July 22, 2024
Editor's Notes:
Here are some
initial (not final) statistics, which show the Israeli
war crimes against humanity, during the current Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza Strip, based on the
By July 22, 2024,
the initial death toll of Palestinians who have been killed by the
Israeli genocidal war on
Gaza
Strip is
46,006+.
This includes the accounted for deaths (39,006), those who are still missing under the rubble (a corrected estimate, on April 18, 2024: 7,000+).
By July 12, 2024, the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment destroyed more than 100 health hospitals and medical facilities, 609 mosques, 3 churches, more than 430,000 housing units, and the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. Although the occupation army previously claimed that the same area that it is demanding to evacuate today is among the humanitarian and safe areas, it returned, through a statement issued by its spokesman, to claim that staying in that area has become dangerous, even though it is already destroyed and had been subjected to intense bombing previously, Palestinian civilians citizens returned to it because there is no other option and nowhere to turn. WAFA correspondent said that immediately after the army’s decision was issued, the intensive bombing operation began from the air and land without giving citizens a chance to prepare themselves, which killed at least 12 civilians and the injury of dozens. About a week ago, the occupation army committed a massacre in Al-Mawasi area, which it claimed was safe, resulting in the killing of 90 civilians and the injury of 300, in a series of raids that targeted tents and places where the Palestinians were displaced. On May 6, the occupation troops forced citizens to evacuate several areas in Rafa'h under the pretext that they are dangerous combat zones. Last April, the occupation army forced citizens to evacuate the eastern areas of the city of Rafa'h and migrate to Khan Younus and Al-Mawasi, despite the extensive destruction there. K.T. *** Israeli police kill Canadian citizen near Gaza border Monday 22-July-2024 (PIC)- The Israeli occupation apartheid regime police officers shot a Canadian citizen dead after allegedly threatening Israeli security officers with a knife in the kibbutz of Netiv Haasara near the Gaza border. According to the Hebrew media, a Canadian man arrived at the entrance of Netiv Haasara on the border with Gaza while chanting “the Israeli army is killing civilians in Gaza.” The Israeli police justified the shooting incident by claiming that the man pulled out a knife in an attempt to stab a security officer in the area. *** UN rapporteur: Israel practices apartheid in a brutal manner Sunday 21-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, said, ”there is a Palestinian state that already exists.” ”Israel practices apartheid against the Palestinians and is becoming more brutal and sadistic towards its victims every day,” she added on X platform on Sunday. She pointed out that “Israel practices apartheid against the Palestinians, and is becoming more brutal and sadistic towards its victims every day.” The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) earlier said that children in the Gaza Strip face difficult conditions amid the spread of skin diseases, an unhealthy environment, and endless hostilities. UNICEF said that “children in Gaza are dealing with overwhelming conditions, including skin diseases, unsanitary environments and unending hostilities”, stressing that “a ceasefire is needed now”. The Israeli occupation continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of the south of Rafah, and to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the dire humanitarian situation. *** UNPF: Malnutrition in Gaza poses great danger to pregnant women and newborns Sunday 21-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) The United Nations Population Fund (UNPF) confirmed on Sunday that “malnutrition in Gaza poses a great danger to pregnant women and newborns.” The UN Fund added, in a post on X platform that “it has become increasingly common for the birth of low-weight babies in Gaza.” “Malnutrition in Gaza poses a great danger to pregnant women and newborns, amid an increase in stillbirths, low-weight children, and others suffering from wasting and delayed growth.” The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip earlier indicated that 34 children were starved to death, while 3,500 children are at risk of death due to malnutrition and starvation. *** PGMO: Number of killed journalists in Gaza rises to 162 Sunday 21-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) An Israeli genocidal airstrike killed Mu'tasim Ghurab on Sunday, taking the number of journalists killed since the Gaza war started to 162, according to Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO). According to Palestinian media sources, the Israeli occupation army targeted a house belonging to the Ghurab family in the north of Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing journalist Mu'tasim and four of his family members, including two girls. GMO pointed out that Ghurab had worked for years as a journalist for different media outlets. On Saturday, the Israeli genocidal shelling of Jabalya in northern Gaza killed journalist Mu'hamed Abu Jasir along with his wife and two children. *** ýAmnesty: Israel must not be allowed to trample on international law any longer Sunday 21-July-2024 GAZA, (PIC) Responding to the historic advisory opinion delivered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legality of Israel’s policies and practices in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), Amnesty International said that “Israel must not be allowed to trample on international law any longer.” “The ICJ has issued its opinion and the conclusion is loud and clear: Israel’s occupation and annexation of the Palestinian territories are unlawful, and its discriminatory laws and policies against Palestinians violate the prohibition on racial segregation and apartheid,” said Amnesty Senior Director for Research, Advocacy, Policy and Campaigns Erika Guevara-Rosas. “This is a historic vindication of the rights of Palestinians who have endured decades of cruelty and systematic human rights violations stemming from Israel’s unlawful occupation.” “The occupation is a key pillar of the system of apartheid that Israel uses to dominate and oppress Palestinians, and which has caused suffering on a mass scale. Palestinians have witnessed their homes being demolished, their lands expropriated to build and expand settlements, and have faced suffocating restrictions disrupting every aspect of their daily lives, from family separation and restrictions on freedom of movement to denial of access to land, water and natural resources.” “The international community, and in particular Israel’s allies, must now take unequivocal action to ensure Israel ends its unlawful occupation, starting with the immediate halting of the expansion of Israeli settlements and reversing the annexation of Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and dismantling its brutal system of apartheid against Palestinians. Ending the occupation is crucial in order to stop the recurrent pattern of human rights violations across Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.” “Israel must withdraw its forces from all parts of the occupied territories, including the Gaza Strip and remove all settlers from the West Bank, including from the illegally annexed East Jerusalem. Israel must also relinquish control over all aspects of Palestinians’ lives, as well as ceding control of borders, natural resources, airspace, and territorial waters of the occupied territory. This means lifting the illegal blockade of Gaza and allowing Palestinians to travel freely between Gaza and the West Bank.” *** UNICEF records 250% increase in number of Palestinian children killed by Israel in the West Bank NEW YORK, Monday , July 22, 2024 (WAFA) – In a report issued on Monday, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) recorded a 250% increase in the number of children killed in the occupied West Bank since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. UNICEF said on its website that 143 children have been killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 2023, which represents an increase of about 250% compared to the previous nine months. It explained that the first nine months of 2023 witnessed the killing of only 41 Palestinian children. The United Nations organization indicated that more than 440 Palestinian children were injured by live ammunition during the period that followed October 2023, as Israeli military operations escalated in the West Bank and East Jerusalem coinciding with the outbreak of the aggression against Gaza. It pointed out that on average, a child has been killed every two days since October 7, 2023 in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. “Children living in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have been exposed to horrific violence for years,” UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said in the same statement. “The situation has deteriorated sharply with the escalation of hostilities inside Gaza.” She added, "There are reports of Palestinian children being detained on their way home from school, or being shot while walking in the streets. This violence must stop now." She continued, "Half of the killings occurred in the Jineen, Toulkarm, and Nablus governorates, and these areas have witnessed an increase in large law enforcement operations with a military nature over the past two years." K.T. *** UNRWA: Israeli forces open fire towards UN convoy heading to Gaza RAMALLAH, Monday , July 22, 2024 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the Israeli occupation forces opened heavy fire on a United Nations convoy that was heading to Gaza City on Sunday. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said, in a post on X that an agency vehicle was hit by at least five bullets while it was waiting in front of an Israeli military checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip. Lazzarin added: "This happened yesterday and the teams were traveling in an armored vehicle with clearly marked UN markings and wearing UN vests." He affirmed that Israeli forces opened heavy fire on the convoy that was heading to Gaza City on Sunday. The occupation army blew up two residential squares in Tal Al-Sultan and Al-Saud neighborhoods, west of the city of Rafa'h, and clouds of thick smoke rose in the place. The center of the Gaza Strip is seeing intense flights of Quadcopter drones, specifically in the airspace of Al-Nusayrat camp. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Dair El-Bala'h said that child, Maryam Mustafa Al-Khateeb, was killed as a result of her injuries sustained in the bombing of an apartment in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp. In the north, the occupation warplanes launched two raids in the vicinity of the University College in Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, and a third raid east of the city. By July 21, 2024, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 7 has risen to 38,983 reported fatalities, with an additional 89,727 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children. Ambulance and rescue teams are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to obstruct the movement of ambulance and civil defense crews. K.T *** Death toll surges to 30 following horrific Israeli massacre in Khan Younus GAZA, Monday, July 22, 2024 (WAFA) – Palestinian medical sources reported that the death toll from Israeli artillery bombardment on the eastern areas of Khan Younus, south of the Gaza Strip has risen to 30 people and dozens of injuries, the majority of whom were children and women. The Israeli occupation forces warplanes launched intense bombardment on the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Khan Younus and its towns after orders were issued to immediately evacuate the eastern region and head towards the new area in Al-Mawasi to the west. Local sources said that the Israeli occupation forces did not give the civilians time to evacuate. Instated, they began carrying out intense bombardment on the city, which resulted in the killing of at least 30 people and the injury of dozens. The eastern areas of the city began to witness mass displacement towards the western regions, especially Al-Mawasi. In a related context, the Nasir Medical Complex, located in Khan Younus, appealed in a statement to civilians to “urgently” donate blood for the benefit of the wounded and sick individuals due to the severe shortage of blood units inside the complex. This shortage poses a serious threat to the lives of the sick and injured in light of the ongoing massacres carried out by the occupation forces against innocent people and civilians. Meanwhile, the Complex said that it received hundreds of bodies and wounded within 3 hours, as a result of the ongoing airstrikes on the east of the city. "We are losing the lives of the sick and injured due to the lack of capabilities. We do not have the minimum resources and supplies to treat the wounded." About a week ago, the occupation army committed a massacre in the Al-Mawasi area, which it claimed was safe, resulting in the killing of at least 90 civilians and the injury of 300 others, in a series of airstrikes that targeted tents of displaced people. The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October last year has so far resulted in 39,006 documented Palestinian fatalities, with an additional 89,818 others injured. Thousands more are feared trapped under the rubble and in streets, inaccessible to rescue. Y.S. *** Two killed, others injured, in Israeli bombing central Gaza GAZA, Monday, July 22, 2024 (WAFA) - Two Palestinian citizens were Monday killed and others were injured in an Israeli bombing on Dair El-Bala'h, in the central Gaza Strip. The PGMO added that more than 75% of the victims arrived at hospitals with burned bodies because of the Israeli use of thermal and chemical weapons. The Al-Nusayrat refugee camp is one of the most crowded camps in the Strip, as it is currently hosting a quarter of a million citizens and displaced, and it is subject to barbaric shelling by the Israeli occupation army which persists in targeting the camp without considering the state of overcrowding in it. The PGMO condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli massacres against civilians in the Al-Nusayrat refugee camp, as well as the US administration’s alignment with Israel in its crime of genocide, holding them responsible for the continuation of these massacres against the displaced and civilians. It also called on the international community, the United Nations, international organizations, and all the free countries of the world to put pressure on Israel and the US administration to stop the war of genocide in Gaza. *** *** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces *** Palestinian man injured by live bullets northeast of Jineen Jineen, Monday , July 22, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian man today was injured by the Israeli occupation forces’ bullets in the village of Faqou'a, northeast of Jineen.
